Poppi Fall Flavors

BRAND APPLICATION | PACKAGING | CONTENT CREATION | PHOTOGRAPHY

This project began as a 20 Day Passion Project for my Senior Design Seminar class. For this challenge I created social content for the prebiotic soda brand, Poppi, everyday for 20 days. As someone passionate about health and wellness brands, loves Poppi’s packaging design, and truly loves their soda flavors, I was excited to challenge myself by dedicating a quarter-long project to the brand.

After completing the challenge, I was tasked to transform my Daily Passion Project into a larger, more tangible project. I decided to design 3 new fall-inspired flavors for Poppi as well as box packaging for each flavor.

This project demonstrates my ability to follow branding restrictions and match a brand’s style seamlessly. Poppi’s existing brand is bright, fun, and playful. The illustrations are simplified, geometric interpretations of fruit and each can consists of only 3 colors.

THE EXISTING BRAND

Apple Cider

PREBIOTIC SODA

Inspired by fall’s iconic beverage, I designed an Apple Cider soda beverage that encapsulates Poppi’s simple and geometric illustration style.

Each flavor apart of this fall collection includes three additional illustrations: cinnamon, star anise, and ground fall spices.

Cranberry Orange

Autumn’s most iconic duo: cranberries and oranges! While taking inspiration from Poppi’s existing orange and cranberry fizz sodas, I combined the two into one flavor. The cranberries and oranges are accompanied by the spices.

PREBIOTIC SODA

Spiced Pear

This fall collection wouldn’t be complete without spiced pears. It was a fun challenge creating a pear illustration, since Poppi has no flavors currently like it. Since this flavor highlights spices, the spice illustrations are more of a focal point.

Since photography played such a large role in my Daily Passion Project, I knew I wanted to incorporate photography into this project as well. As a result, I created my own soda can mockups by spray painting existing Poppi cans white, photographing in fall settings, and photoshopping my designs onto the cans in Photoshop.

Overview

20 DAYS OF POPPI

In my senior seminar design class, I was assigned a daily project in which I create something every weekday through self-authorship. I was given the opportunity to choose any theme and execute something according to that theme each day for 20 days.

Mixing photography, videography, and design, I built out an entire Instagram presence for the prebiotic soda brand, Poppi. As someone who loves all things Poppi (from design to flavor) I decided to experiment with design in the form of social content creation because I enjoy taking pictures, making short-form video content, and knew it was something I would look forward to each day.
